Debt Management - The Process

Ashley Park Debt Solutions offer a personal and friendly service. Our Debt Management Plan is easy to set-up and uncomplicated to follow. Here's a step by step guide of how it works:

  1. When applying for a Debt Management plan with Ashley Park, you will be first put through to one of our trained financial Solutions Advisors who will take full details of your financial situation including all income and expenditure. At Ashley Park we adopt a best advice policy and as a result will always offer the product most suitable for your needs, this may not necessarily be a Debt Management plan.
  2. On recommendation of the Debt Management plan, the advisor will proceed to calculate a reduced affordable monthly payment which can be paid to all your creditors. After obtaining your agreement to this new monthly payment the advisor will forward all the documentation for signature and set up an agreed payment date for the 1st payment into the plan.
  3. You have a cancellation right which is sent out in the documentation from us. You are also entitled to a 'cooling off' period, which ends 14 days after you verbally agree to our services, this begins from the day the documents are issued to you. If you change your mind during this cooling off period any monies paid will be returned to you with no charge being made or due.
  4. After we receive the signed documentation back we will proceed to negotiate with your creditors to reduce or stop any interest and charges on your outstanding credit and agree a reduced monthly payment. Our experience has shown that most creditors do agree to our recommendations however this Isn’t guaranteed. It is at this stage also where we aim to stop all creditor contact or legal action and ensure all your creditors are aware any contact will now be with Ashley Park from this moment on.
  5. Upon receipt of your third monthly payment into the plan we will distribute this payment on a pro-rata basis to each of your creditors in turn and will continue doing this every month ongoing provided there are no changes in your circumstances.
  6. We will also review your plan on a regular basis to ensure you can comfortably afford the payments and if any changes need to be made should your circumstances change.
