What is repossession? [Show +]
Repossession is where someone either an individual or company is looking to seek possession of the property you are living in. normally this is due to having rent or mortgage arrears.
How much does it cost? [Show +]
Currently the cost is £35.00, but this is reviewed by the courts on a regular basis, but we always let our clients know the cost to them.
If a repossession has been granted, how long do I have? [Show +]
Normally the courts will allow you 28 days to find alternative accommodation, but in some circumstances, this can be extended to one year.
I have already been to court, can you still help? [Show +]
Yes, but it is important that you send us as much information as soon as you can as we have to make an application to the court to stop the action against you.
How near to the eviction can you help? [Show +]
We cannot give you an exact amount of time, but we always say as early as possible. Some courts may take longer to process an application or the paperwork could be delayed. If this applies to you then you should call us for immediate advice.
What happens if you are successful in stopping the repossession? [Show +]
The courts will issue a suspended repossession order and agree to the amounts that we are asking them to accept each month. It is then important that you maintain the payments towards the arrears as agreed otherwise the court may decide to repossess, and they will be very unlikely to set up another arrangement.
